General Formula:

Maximum Allowable Mud Weight for Leak Off to Test in ppg = (Leak-off Pressure in psi ) / 0.052 / (Casing Shoe TVD in feet) + (mud weight in ppg).

Example:

Leak off testing pressure = 1250 psi

Casing shoe TVD = 5500 feet

Mud weight = 12.0 ppg

To solve:

 1 : Maximum Allowable Mud Weight for Leak Off to Test = 1250 / .052 / 5500 + 12.0
2 : Maximum Allowable Mud Weight for Leak Off to Test (ppg) = 4.36
